2025 Record: 822-795-1 (+38.50 units)

Cameron Norrie vs. Frances Tiafoe

I was a little surprised to see Norrie available at +142 odds against Tiafoe. While the American has won two in a row against Norrie, both of those matches were close two-setters. Also, Norrie is playing better at this point in the season than he was at any point in 2024. The Brit comes into this match after having won nine of his last 13 matches, and he’ll now be playing a 50-50 match in front of his home fans at the All England Club. Sign me up at plus-money odds.

It’s also worth noting that Norrie is making a lot more forehands this year than he did last year. According to TennisViz and Tennis Data Innovations, he’s making 87% of his forehands in 2025. He made only 84% in 2024. That’s a pretty big difference, and it’s significant when looking at this matchup. The reason for that is that Norrie had a forehand Shot Quality of 5.0 in the match these two played in Vienna last year, and Tiafoe had a forehand Shot Quality of 8.1. I don’t see the difference between that big this time around.

Norrie is also a much better returner than Tiafoe, especially on this surface. That should manifest itself at some point.

Bet: Norrie ML (+142)

Arthur Fery vs. Luciano Darderi

Darderi was able to outlast Roman Safiullin in a five-set match in the opening round, but he’s 1-3 on grass this season. He’s also just 3-7 on grass in his career, and he’s 3-18 on hard courts. Why is the latter relevant? Well, if not for Darderi having a 34-19 clay-court record, he wouldn’t be ranked that far ahead of Fery. So, when trying to figure out who will win this match, don’t even consider the numbers next to the names of these players.

Fery is also coming off a win over Alexei Popyrin, a big server with a powerful baseline game. And Fery only needed four sets to beat him. Including the Nottingham Challenger event two weeks ago, Fery is now 4-1 in his last five grass-court matches. The 22-year-old is just far more comfortable on this surface, which isn’t surprising considering he’s a Brit playing against a clay-court specialist.

Fery simply should be able to find a way to get this one done, especially with his all-court game stacking up nicely with Darderi’s desire to grind and hit with heavy topspin from the forehand side. As long as Fery can handle his nerves in front of the British crowd, he should get into the third round.

Bet: Fery ML (+100)

Gabriel Diallo vs. Taylor Fritz

I had the Over on sets in Fritz’s opening-round match against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. That one ended up going five sets, with Fritz winning on Tuesday because of a Monday curfew issue. Well, I don’t see any reason not to go right back to the same play here.

Diallo has had a breakout grass-court season, winning a title in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, then going 3-2 over five matches in Queen’s Club and Mallorca. All in all, he’s 9-4 on this surface over the last 52 weeks, and his hold percentage is 90.7% in that span. So, this match really isn’t all that different from the one Fritz just played against Mpetshi Perricard. These are two players that can hold at a high clip, but they don’t put a ton of pressure on opponents as returners. That should mean some tiebreakers, which should give both players a shot at getting on the scoreboard.

Bet: Over 3.5 Sets (-156)

Added Plays

Katerina Siniakova ML (+100 – 1.5 units) vs. Naomi Osaka

PARLAY: Alejandro Davidovich Fokina ML vs. Botic van de Zandschulp & Marketa Vondrousova +1.5 Sets vs. Emma Raducanu (-156)

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova ML (-120) vs. Ashlyn Krueger

I usually have A LOT MORE on the Pro Picks page. Those plays count towards my record and have been a big part of my success this season. Make sure you check them out. I’ll probably add a few more over there, so refresh that page throughout the day if you’re looking for action.
